LUXURY, FRANKLY I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!
(PROPOSAL)
April 2016
Client Luxury Symposium Team | Ravensbourne
Working as Freelancer
This project was a freelance job for a luxury symposium that happened at Ravensbourne open to figures of the luxury industry. The briefing was to make a proposal for a branding that screamed a new type of luxury. Still expensive, still very gold but also turned to sustainability and spirituality. One of the constrains was that it had to have the phrase "Frankly, I don't give a damn" incorporated on a logo.
THE POLISHED IDEAS
Cutting, slashing, damaging, smudging the "luxury" as it is was the idea the client preferred and so it was the one I worked in. From cuts to wrinkles, from handwritten fonts to some more elegant and modern nothing really seemed to be quite right. Especially because when it came to insert the long strap line everything was a bit unrelated.
MY PREFERRED SUGGESTION
THE LOGO USED IN THE END
Because in life we have to accept defeats, this was one that I had to store in my sad stories box. In the end, and I admit that because I was working for tutors and higher ranks in the University which I was studying in, it probably meant I was not firm enough on my decisions, the client kept on making changes over changes. So much so that I had nothing to do with the finished product, which was entirely made by them. I decided to present this project here as a reminder of the learning process this was and to make sure I do not make the same mistakes again.
